No worries matey, very best of luck with your application! Cheers, yeah I'm super excited at the prospect of having a route to learn and know better than the back of my hand (and in all seasons/weathers)! At least if you get through to the DMI again with EMT (or with any other company for that...
I shouldn't worry Clive, I haven't received an email from Marie about reapplying either, but I can't have been that far off the mark at interview as about 6 weeks later I passed the DMI with another TOC and am now in their talent pool for mainline drivers! :D
Out of interest did you ever hear...
Hi Dynamonic,
Thanks for your advice, invaluable as always! :)
The only issue I can see with the medical report is how long my GP seems to take to do them! I appreciate they have an incredibly hard job and medical reports aren't high on their list of tasks but last time I requested one it...
Hello,
Thanks for your reply, much appreciated! I'm going to the opticians next month so will be able to check my prescription is inkeeping with the RSSB guidelines. No, I had no intentions of hiding any medical conditions from my prospective employer, I'm merely concerned about the medical...
Hi guys, hope you're all well? Is anyone able to give me an idea as to what happens at the medical? I have three main questions if anyone is kind enough to advise me:
1) Eyesight - I know train drivers are allowed to wear glasses but how good does your sight have to be without them in order to...
Hiya,
Haha they'll be no banter from me, I'll be too busy trying to ensure my answers result in a nice solid tick in all of those boxes! Seriously though thanks for your advice, do you mind if I ask why you've had to take it twice? Had more than 2-3 years lapsed between your first and second...
Hi Dynamonic,
Wow roll on Monday then, the first day of the rest of your life! I'm very pleased for you buddy, have seen you knocking about the forum for a while so glad you finally got the chance of a lifetime you so deserve! :) Enjoy every minute and let us know how you go on (hopefully I'll...
Thanks Dynamonic :)
It's my first MMI (didn't pass the DMI at EMT so never got to MMI stage). So you think the follow up questions are likely to be along the lines of 'what would you do differently', 'how did you feel' etc rather than 'what do you know about this company', 'what types of units...
Hi guys, have managed to secure an MMI Interview with another TOC - I've looked over this forum and it seems to be the same 6 questions coming up so have prepared for them. I'm also getting conflicting advice saying that they may well ask me why I want to become a train driver, what I know about...
I've not got past the DMI either but it's only the first time I've ever applied to be a Train/Depot Driver so knew it was going to be tough after reading the forum. Thankfully I didn't rest on my laurels and now have two more invitations from two other companies for their train driver...
