Thanks for all the replies. The suggestion of getting a refund and buying a new ticket doesn’t really work though as the replacement ticket is more expensive than the one I would be handing in. £50.25 today vs £22 when I bought it. I’ll ask at Preston station if I can find anyone to ask.
My 07:18 train in the morning from Preston to Birmingham New Street has been cancelled and the next train is an hour later. My return train is at 15:06 both on Advance Singles booked together on Trainsplit (with no splits). I know I can catch the next train out on my Advance ticket but can I...
The trains into London Bridge are National Rail, not TfL services. It’s just that in London they are all integrated into a TfL touch-in, touch-out PAYG system rather than pre-paid tickets.
But isn’t it just like e.g Trainsplit? If your train is late you claim of the TOC not the ticket seller? Can’t be right that the TOCs can evade their responsibilities by selling through TfL as their agent.
I got off at Preston and the train was (is expected to be ) 40 minutes late. So I can do Delay Repay for the delay compensation but what is reasonable to expect for no seat compensation?
What the situation with Delay Repay in London when you have used contactless to touch in and out, not a booked ticket, to connect to your train out of London. Fortunately I managed to make my train with some creativity despite virtually all the trains into London Bridge being cancelled. But...
So my Avanti train left Euston for Glasgow at 19:30 but due to the cancellation of the earlier 18:30 the train was heaving, the train was declassified, seat reservation cancelled and it was packed standing room only for what turned out to be a 3hr journey. I had a Standard Premium ticket but...
Wo
Worth a try. Northern refunded my car parking charges and mileage when I had to drive to another station to make my connecting train when they cancelled theirs.
You don’t need a disability. 50% of men over 50 and 80% of men over 80 have prostate enlargement a consequence of which is the need to urinate frequently as illustrated by needing to get up multiple times in the night.
Just a hypothetical now as it all worked out and her onward ticket was not checked. My partner was on a Crewe to London train this morning on an Advance ticket. Turned out the train had no working toilets so she had to get off part way to use the station toilets and then catch the next...
Just to close, I got on the train, there was an SP carriage and it was over half empty for my leg of the journey with plenty of available seats to choose from. So they could easily have sold me an SP ticket online had they wanted to. Yes you can buy the upgrade on the train but unlike the...
