European Train Stations you have felt most uneasy visiting

I went to a concert in Dusseldorf and the arena was beside Dusseldorf Oberbilk, it was a dark, unmanned station with a poorly lit underpass entrance and stairs to the platform. I wasn't threatened but it makes you be extra aware of your surroundings and it would be the same for most stations in...

    Chiltern during WCML blockades

It seems he is one of those people who complain about anything and everything, weird if I had been assaulted as he claimed and bleeding I'd be calling the police and maybe getting medical treatment, not posting on social media

Nicest European Train Stations you have visited

Went there earlier this year, in the day time, but didn't feel any safety issues. Typical German station with plenty of people about and shops etc nowadays

Nicest European Train Stations you have visited

Luzern is nice but incredibly expensive for a drink, always enjoyed changing at Zurich but stupidly expensive too

European Train Stations you have felt most uneasy visiting

I think if you look like you know what you're doing you tend to be left alone, or look like you can take care of yourself. I never stop to acknowledge someone if I'm walking through a station or its vicinity. I just think it is a case of using common sense and being a bit street wise

What’s the least used station with a ticket office?

In the early 80's I used to work at Glynde ticket office, M-F 630-230, I used to sell a few tickets in the rush hour then once 9am passed it was the odd ticket to Lewes and Brighton that way and Eastbourne the other. It didn't even have the old cash register ticket machine but a date press I...

Dusseldorf to Wuppertal and the Schwebebahn

When I went a few weeks ago I thought around the station was like any other German city/town, might be a bit less safe at night but anywhere can be. When I got off for a walk around at both ends that felt alright but again at night or later in the day might be less so but I didn't have anything...

    Revenue Protection at Brighton

I hope so, every time I travel to St. Pancras on my 1st class Interrail from Brighton it is packed in 1st class both ways. Be nice to know who should genuinely be in there

Cologne - Interesting railway things to do?

Went to Wuppertal last week as I was staying in Dusseldorf and wanted to ride it. Very interesting but a bit disconcerting when it starts swaying at stations, I rode from one end to the other and if you go the best place to sit is at the back with the clear window so you can see everything
