Isn't it more the cheap and frequent service to be celebrated at Ashington rather than the station? You couldn't expect canopies, flower baskets and buffets everywhere but the station doesn't even have a ticket office, toilets or waiting room! Its a platform with a bus shelter
I'm not sure, it does seem incredibly bad that there is only 1 tpd Newark to Retford, at least Morpeth has the Lumo and TPE services and Durham still has the XC services. Maybe the Branch Line Society should be notified of a new Parliamentary service station?!
