Make all tickets a function of distance and time of day.

This is true... but I welcome the introduction of greater evening peak restrictions. We need to get more out of the infrastructure we have and that means pushing demand to different times of day.

There should be third class standing only carriages on all busy routes. 3 + 2 in the rest, with very narrow gangways and full size seats. Standing would be banned...

Incredibly frustrating staff at London Bridge. On a train leaving because people couldn't board - not a lack of space, just a lack of people moving down - " stand back another train will be here in xxx mins". Didn't seem to be aware that they don't stop at the same places... could have better...

I think even during snow drifts around 8 years ago things were better! Trains currently can't enter Brighton as all platforms are occupied.

They've got a few spare, judging by he number seen at three bridges in the peak this AM!

To bout this into context.. the southern debacle of the past few years is NOTHING compared to this.

could sidings be built at Bermondsey and north of St Pancras so that trains could terminate there?

Looks like 2 per hour thameslink from Brighton... spectacular failure given that there have been 4 for the past 4 years. Fewer high peak (leaving Brighton before 715 say) trains to London Bridge than there were two years ago? Shocking.

As a Brighton London Bridge commuter it was fantastic :-)

Bournemouth/Hastings/Broadstairs are a bit too far.. but I guess would have taken less time than Brighton today. Southend is a bit sad. Where would you recommend? Personally, if I was a croydoner just wanting some kind of beach I would drive to Lancing, as then roads and parking are good.

Today's issues are a bit of a joke. There are situations where the road route is much longer, slower etc which means that you can't get the capacity. This is only 3 miles!
