I wonder if the data are available to show where people who are through ticketed on Eurostar come from. Coming from the Berks and Hants line, getting to St Pancras before 11am is a major challenge, unless you accept substantially enhanced prices for the UK travel element and difficult access to...
Apparently the footbridge is now complete structurally according to Railadvent. There remains a lot of work to build a new multistorey car park. We could really have done with the lifts earlier this week when my pregnant daughter required access to the platforms carrying a suitcase....
I wonder if the HGV access is both for Thames Water (Western end) and for access to the eastern end of the station where there is a lot of stuff (electrical power equipment). I have not been down there recently to find out if the new footbridge and lift access to the platforms is in place or not.
footbridge towers in place at Theale presumably including ligt shafts. The new ticket office has been ready for years so it will just be in time for all ticket offices to be closed!
Thank you Gloster and John Webb. I did already have the map image from single line days. In the 1873-1888 date range the wharf siding is shown to have a Goods shed which covers the trackand a coal yard. There is no signal box that I can see but there are signal posts at each end of the loop.
Burbage Wharf was a goods siding/station on the Berks and Hants line between Bedwyn and Pewsey.
From the ordnance survey maps I can see that it persisted in to the twentieth century. They also show that there was a goods shed and a coal yard there My attempts to find a photograph of it have...
Does platform 0 at Theale get any use? It has access to and from the car park but since electrification works finished it seems to be a spare platform.
What is happening to diagrams on the Bedwyn route. I keep seeing 16x but used to see only 80x. I thought 80x were for the service.
Also saw a 16x waiting on Towney loop to be overtaken by a 5 car 80x on Monday. Definitely an unusual working.
Problems galore with the service to Bedwyn departing Paddington at 1708 yesterday. One of the problems that passengers were told about was needing to wait for crew members at Reading because staff are not used to the new timetable change! Because of its length (2*5 car sets) it does not fit the...
Report in a local paper recently but not I believe discussed elsewhere:

I am not holding my breath, there has been a disused ticket office at Theale for at least 18 months now....
Rode in class 80x to and from Cardiff yesterday. Question is where do they change over to diesel power? It seemed to me that the diesels were turned on at Bristol Parkway, although at speed I did not notice a change in noise levels but then again I was concentrating on documents for meetings.
A friendly member of staff on the B & H told me yesterday that he thought that the electric trains would start in service before the timetable change. I hope he is right.
