Possibly far away due to risk assessment. If a charging EV goes up the last thing you want is a lithium fire next to the expensive real estate which may be full of shoppers who can't escape or be rescued.

    Delays at Calais

Its the middle of the summer holidays and French workers go on holiday too, so it is likely an increase in passengers has coincided with fewer staff. Avoid August is the best advice, simply not worth it.

    Easyjet news

Easyjet services at LBA are to routes already well served, so no real surprise. Belfast International may be useful for anyone who finds City inconvenient. but is that more than those who don't?

Deliberately Misleading Car Park Signs designed to catch you out?

In many, many cases there is no need to take a day off work. The papers arrive, but the court fee is never paid so the case never moves to hearing, for the reasons stated. It costs more for the parking company to attend court than they would win on the day. Serving papers is the last throw of...

Deliberately Misleading Car Park Signs designed to catch you out?

No surprise. Unless you know the law around private parking and can point out to POPLA exactly how the ticket doesn't meet the requirements of the law you will lose. You then play brinkmanship. A loss at POPLA makes no difference as you can carry on refusing to pay. Wait for Court papers and...

UK switching to electric vehicles discussion

I was in a council car park today and as I walked past the EV spaces a none EV drove in and parked up. It was then I noticed the recharging points have all been removed and a termination box installed. That suggests no demand for charging in that town centre car park, not what I would expect.

    Car hire question

I had similar with Zest as they provide full CDW insurance with all bookings. Hired a car in Portugal, someone who couldn't park decided their bumper needed to hit the passenger door as part of the manouver. Reported it, but heard nothing more, no extra charges etc.

    Car hire question

It would make it far easier if you had a credit card. Apply for one today, even if you only use it once for the car hire its a handy piece of plastic to have access to.

The one cost most buyers 'forget' when buying via PCP is the deposit in the belief the delaers are so wrong with their sums the car will be worth far more than the GFV (it rarely is). £5k deposit over a typical 36 month term is almost £140 a month.

Deliberately Misleading Car Park Signs designed to catch you out?

Its the 'guess how long you have stayed' type of payment machine. Designed to scam the unsuspecting.
