Utter rubbish. They are exactly as they are, no silencers fitted before coming here. The amount of people who seem to know who couldn't possibly have heard one makes me laugh. Even being run up stationary on 2/3 power, they are noisey, and have a deep deep rumble.

First rule of proper railway work, never ever ever put anything in writing unless you have too. Modern railway types seem to have lost this skill, end up writing reports that weren't needed and then dropping themselves in the shoite.

Most shunting done with radios these days. Not keen, but it's how it is so have to get on with it. Just have to judge it when buffering up without a shunter. Intrepid is a lovely lovely machine, very well built and driver friendly. Can't wait to get her out on mainline.
