Notebook found which needs reuniting with its owner

The notebook was found five or more years ago. The finder has recently found it again after losing it in a house move and wishes to return it to its rightful owner which could or could not be "Graham (Dolan?)".

Notebook found which needs reuniting with its owner

Please feel free to move if it is in the wrong section. Please help. The notebook was found in the cab where the defect book on the second person's side of a Pendolino goes. The train had arrived at Preston several (five or more?) years ago from Scotland heading south. The finder mislaid it...

    Track Diagrams

It sounds like you need to join the Branch Line Society (which has a very cheap basic membership rate of £12). They produce regular updates to members, the most recent being what the Derby remodelled layout will be like from October 2018. The Liverpool Lime Street remodelled layout is also...

Suicidal male on Stockport viaduct 19 Jul 18

I was not aware he was lying on top of the parapet until it was mentioned in post #11. It is reported that he is drinking alcohol so he may well fall off anyway. As for the use of tranquilizers if could be used when trespassers are running around the track, for example in station areas. I...

Suicidal male on Stockport viaduct 19 Jul 18

In situations like this, when the trespassers are unco-operative, could police marksmen not use tranquilizer darts? It would avoid the "suicide by cop" scenario. I expect that when the individual is presented with the invoice for the delay they will feel suicidal again.

    The 565 Special on 2nd September 2017

When I did the OP the relief lines were showing in RTT as being used and, given BLS involvement on the tour, there would be no issues about it. However, NRE is still showing buses replacing trains between Cardiff Central and Newport so clearly some internal check within NRE has failed to pick...

    The 565 Special on 2nd September 2017

Thank you for informing me of the timing details of the 565 Special. National Rail Enquiries is still showing buses replacing trains between Newport and Cardiff Central on Saturday and Sunday.

    The 565 Special on 2nd September 2017

The above is due to go from Carnforth to Carmarthen, out via Hereford and return via the Heart of Wales line. National Rail Enquiries says the line is closed between Newport and Cardiff Central for engineering work and buses are replacing trains. What is the present situation re the 565 Special?

Just in from work. Thank you very much for your speedy response. I can make my plans accordingly.

    Forres Loop

I intend to cover the Forres Loop before the new station opens. Does anyone have working knowledge of the practice here? Are they both, one or neither of them bi-directional? There are some occasions during the day when trains cross here and so the down (towards Aberdeen) and the up (towards...

Liverpool Disruption 28 Feb 2017 - RAIB report released 30/11/17

VT Manchester Piccadilly drivers sign Crewe to Holyhead. VT Euston and Preston drivers sign Crewe to Chester. Why do reports not clarify that Liverpool Lime Street Merseyrail platforms are operating normally?

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

https://secondreading.uk/elections/brexit-the-people-vs-parliament/ This was done by Chris Hanretty (University of East Anglia) and he estimates that 421 of the 574 (possibly 573, both numbers quoted in this and links) English and Welsh parliamentary constituencies had a majority leave vote.

Big Sam is solid Labour. He gave Jack Straw (Blackburn's former MP) a ringing endorsement when he was the Blackburn Rovers manager.
