There is an additional service each way in the peak for the Pompey Direct from December which should help a little. An extra arrival between 0800 and 0900 at Waterloo, and the 1615 to Haslemere will run again.

When the Poole stoppers did run before Covid they didn't call at Woking. The current Woking to Basingstoke service is what is has been for many years.

The 1702 Waterloo to Guildford has mostly been booked for stock without First Class for a few years now anyway. It was one of the last 455 diagrams, and after a few months of being booked 450 is now booked 701.

I'm not sure they necessarily could go back. The change was introduced when the Portsmouth to Southampton stopping trains were retimed in reaction to changes to the Southern timetable. Whereas they previously had short turnarounds at Southampton, they would now have 40 minute turnarounds.

That is a feature rather than a fault.
