I waited about a year between assessment and interview. Assessment for senior conductor is good fun. Everyone I've met at LM on these assessments are friendly and the atmosphere is pretty relaxed. You'll get all the info and practice material when you're invited to one, I did find doing the...
Thanks, it's the way it goes sometimes. Live and learn. I've got an assessment with XC on Monday so hopefully that will go well.

I've got an assessment event to attend next Monday and somehow I've avoided group exercises for any job ever. So any advice or information on what to expect would be appreciated.

Senior conductor out of bham new st. Finnally got my interview feedback, did well at the health n safety stuff, weaker in communication and decision making. If it helps others they recommend using the Star method for answering those questions.

Still waiting for interview feedback from the recruitment team. Bare in mind I interviewed way back now start of September. So we're moving beyond the 28 days one was asked to wait. My opinion of HR weakens daily.
In my experience of applying for the conductor role, particularly at interview the TOC I was applying to cared far more about the safety aspect of the role than the customer service side.
The concentration test for me was with dots not shapes.

Had a talk with the wife and relocation just isn't right for us. Was tempted. Still my original point is that surely recruitment in their first sift of applicants favour anyone already close. So people like myself are disadvantaged from the get go.

I don't live an hour from any location but would be willing to relocate. However surely this pretty much reduces my chances of getting past applying to nil. Especially if enough people apply that are close enough.

Just some food for thought, something I've been mulling over. I've seen senior conductor adverts for various TOC's all seem to emphasise the customer service side of the role. Having been interviewed twice with one particular TOC the customer service aspect seems to be the bit they value least...
As someone who's still gutted to have failed interview for a guard job, I would be biting your TOCs hand off to accept the job. Were I in your shoes. Also I'd be a bit salty if I knew the position I didn't get had gone to someone who didn't really want it.

Might well do, even if them reading the email slows them up further! XC always seem to be hiring so I can believe that if it's a small team it can take a long time.
