Great Eastern and Norwich are now depot to mainline only. West Anglia and Liverpool Street east are still available to direct entry vacancies. It is possible West Anglia may get depot drivers at Cambridge in the future so could all change.

Mainline or depot driver? Which depot?

An email got sent to all GE depots this morning.

Is this for Norwich or Great Eastern? I can tell you for GE but I'm afraid I don't know the exact details for Norwich. Regardless, Sundays and BH are extra for all......at the moment.

Sundays average roughly 1 in 4 on great eastern. Current Sunday rate is 1.75

If you take the position give your academy training full effort and then listen well to your instructor when posted to depot. It’s a very rules and procedures based job. Also try and be as well rested as possible when the shifts start.

Source is this is what the company and union have agreed as part of pay deal. Whether this will affect you personally being so far along in the process I couldn’t say. Depot driver is a great job.

This is part of the driver pay deal agreed this week. Internal non driver and external candidates will have to apply to be depot drivers at these locations to progress to mainline.
