Wow, Five pages to explain a landslip.
Took me a minute to read the BBC News about this.
So, as I understand it from the 5 pages, this has happened before, so why was it not fixed properly the first time?
It's no wonder I don't use trains anymore when it's run by incompetent budget...
You have listed a load of cities.....
I am assuming you need to commute from London to Birmingham as there are no jobs in London? Or you need to commute from Birmingham to London for the same reasons?
It might be worthwhile you moving to rural Bucks, or Oxon, therefore dismissing the need...
The government only ever do what they are advised to do.
All governments employ advisors to do the real work.
HS2 is only being planned as some fool advised the government that we need it.
Just the same as when Tony Blair told us Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.
Today's headlines "George Osborne 'passionate' about HS2"
Mr Osbourne must be feeling very lonely, as nobody else shares his views.
I don't share his views, and neither do my local council to whom I pay taxes.
My local council are going to fight HS2 until it's final death. The death of HS2.
HS2 is a waste of money, as I never go to Birmingham or London, and don't know of anyone who would want to either!
I live somewhere between both terminals, so what is there for us, apart from demolishing perfectly good houses and countryside?
You could house all the long term unemployed...
Obviously I would have to break speed limits to arrive earlier.
I was stuck on the motorway in a jam for an hours delay only this week, but this happens once or twice a year, where on a train this would be at least twice a week.
Looking at my phone app now for train departure times from my local station...
The next four X-Country trains due in are running 35mins late, 16mins late, 15 mins late, and 3 mins late.
This is why I don't use the railway for commuting.
As a car driver I can arrive earlier if I drive faster...
