Remaining Class 365s leaving GN - What next for the 365s?

You are assuming passenger numbers return to pre-covid levels. It seems the rail industry thinks this will not happen as companies have realised that employees can work from home and commuting is not so necessary anymore. Hence the reduction in GN units.

Remaining Class 365s leaving GN - What next for the 365s?

Regarding future use for 365s. There were reps from a company, a few weeks ago, looking around a 365 unit at the depot with one of our RSIs. They were looking at the possibility of fitting traction batteries and doing some refurb work for a potential new operator. Don't know who that potential...

Remaining Class 365s leaving GN - What next for the 365s?

The GN fleet is being reduced due to the reduction in passenger numbers. It has been confirmed that the remaining 21 x Class 365s will be leaving GN and placed into storage. What next for the 365s? Scrape or moved to another operator? GN to get 6 x 387/2 units from Gatwick Express and another...

    GN Class 717

Further 717 unit introductions currently on hold due to reliability issues. Looks like the remaining 313s are going to be around for a bit longer. Caused by various issues with traction controller software, cab to saloon door setup, software and reliability issues and various other software...

    GN Class 717

Talking to the Siemens lads today, the HVAC will shortly be getting a software update that will lower the saloon temperature as well as adjust a few other HVAC technical parameters.

    GN Class 717

cars The 6 car 717 is only 50% the power of a 12 car 700 as it is only half the size of a 12 car 700. However the 717 power to weight ratio is exactly the same as the class 700 units. The RLU 8 car 700 has 4 power cars and 4 trailer cars. The FLU 12 car 700 has 6 power cars and 6 trailer cars...

    GN Class 717

Drayton Park change over times will improve once Network Fail fit the transponder tag to the track to enable the 717 automatic change over. This will make the change over time the same as the 700 units at Farringdon.

    GN Class 717

This was not a fault with the train. It was a fault with the driver! The driver did not change over to AC correctly at Drayton Park. The train departed the station on DC and once contact with the third rail was last at the end of the platform the unit coasted to just short of K373 signal with an...

    GN Class 717

Not sure if anyone has already posted, but we have been informed that the 717s are now not due to start entering service until after Christmas. The train that failed on the up NCL the other night suffered a failure of the main Ethernet train back bone (main data comes line). This system should...

More problems with 385s again! Problems with brakes this time, the last thing you want to have issues with!! There are 9 more 365s in storage if Scotrail want them!!!

    GN Class 717

2G92 ran today, this was the first 717 'in service' run. More of a box ticking run to say a unit went into service. Ran Fast from Moorgate to Gordon Hill. A grand total of 1 real passenger and a load of GTR managers on board. Unit ran around 17 mins late due to minor issue of not enough track...

    Class 365s to Scotrail

Air pressure - Not a problem on GN and same line speed. Sounds like a maintenance issue to me. The wiper arm must have come loose for it to fall off, which should have been addressed on exam at Shields depot.
