SCAAT test, listening exercise about an incident, finally a report writing exercise about faulty equipment onboard.

I was a planner for just over a year, before becoming a Driver. It's a great job, but you need to learn on the job very quickly as there is a continual heavy workload! NR opens the door to an industry with endless opportunities, make the most of it!

I did mine at Crewe and another course were at Ferrybridge.

I got the same email last week too. I had all of my assessments and interviews in July/August, LM's recruitment has a reputation of being inefficient so my advice is start applying elsewhere with those test passes before it becomes too late. I'm at HeavyHaul now and it's the best decision...

I'm excited with a bit of nerves thrown in the mix too. Letters didn't mention bringing anything but will have some ID incase. Great opportunity ahead of us all here, will be great to meet everyone tomorrow.

At least I'm not on my own then. Is your final depot going to be Crewe or somewhere else? 12 weeks sounds about right altogether in the hotel.

I might do a dummy run this week coming, I've got a week in limbo between jobs. I'm sure it'll be easy to find, just don't want any surprises on the Monday. Wish it was tomorrow we were starting!

If I'm overdressed then so be it, I'll just get rid of the tie :) I haven't even looked into the actual location yet, I've the building when I'm passing through on the train home to Liverpool but never actually been there. Will have to look into that in a bit more detail... Another thing...

I'll be in a shirt and tie, I'm assuming the first day everyone will be in their own gear and we're kitted out with Freightliner uniform from then onwards.

Carlisle is the furthest north

I've been waiting since August for a start date, no I haven't taken a medical with LM, in the meantime whilst I've been waiting I applied for Freightliner and was offered a position there as a trainee driver. This in a better location for so a no brainer, as it enables me to move from Milton...

I'm going to be based at Crewe, anyone have an idea as to the routes I'll sign? Guess it'll be all of the WCML down to Wembley and up to Carlisle, probably the S&C too. Possibly sign to Bristol, and I'm sure of signing at least up to Bescott.

I'm sorted too! I hope the PPE fits decently, my NR ones are enormous!
