Thanks all for the input/advice.
Based on what you’ve all said, I’m not going to devote any more time to pursuing this further. Appreciate all the input!
For a 4day/1month first class adult pass, €12 is 13% the value of that day, which is hardly generous. But there you go, there are enough other benefits to Interrail that I don’t mind. In any case most EU railways have less generous compensation than in GB.
One of the few downsides of Interrail vs. UK single tickets! It’s not even 25% of a day depending on the value of the pass, I think they assume you’ve taken multiple journeys per day (same as for season tickets).
Fair enough, my reason for posting here was just to get some other opinions.
Really just felt something like €50 compensation would be more appropriate - and a simple acknowledgement/apology for the actual issue.
But I think I’m just anchored by Delay Repay compensation figures where even a...
Hi
I travelled on Eurostar Brussels-London in Standard Premier, on an Interrail first class + Eurostar reservation.
The food served to me had mould visibly growing on it. I reported to onboard staff and they did the best they could - purser apologised and substituted the meal for the ‘starter’...
Despite a few threads on this topic on the forum I don't see any clear answers.
Is it possible to excess a mobile ticket? Specifically in this case, excessing the return half of a ticket valid London Terminals-Birmingham Stations via High Wycombe to an Any Permitted, possibly also changing the...
I guess. Although I meant that usage can vary up and down, rather than not being used completely. But maybe that is out of the ordinary and that would be what they're aiming to pick up.
I'd say you must be quite lucky to never have had a card frozen. I've had cards frozen on more occasions than I can count (mainly online transactions from US websites), and I've had online bank account access suspended on a couple of occasions. Two close family members have had their cards...
If it's an Advance fare, consider having it posted out to you. Southeastern (and I'm sure many other sites) will post out at no extra charge and it can be more convenient than queuing up at a station in any case.
I'd second this - having more than one card (and keeping them in different places!) is very useful, though I think 30 is a bit over the top (for this purpose at least, I know there are many other reasons you might want to).
This is a very good point, I didn't think of this until afterwards. Luckily there are alternatives such as a passport (impractical, I know) or one of the many PASS cards.
