I'm on 114 at present on the 06:41 off Sunderland. Would this be its first time out in passenger service with GC? If so, I suppose it sort of makes up for not getting a HST. Internally, it appears to be pure FGW, the only difference being the lap top sockets and Marilyn smiling down on...

Just come into Sunderland on the 16:50 ex KGX. 180 005 was in the other platform at Sunderland on a crew training run. HST departed northbound and the 180 southbound simultaneously. I should think the 180 has just passed Hartlepool by the time I post this - just in case anyone wanted to see...

Those sorts of passengers are not confined to Grand Central. I've come across them all over the UK unfortunately. What interests me is the standard of customer service among GC front line staff which in my experience is second to none at present. Quite an achievement given the problems they...

WiFi is up and running. I'm posting this on the 16:50 ex KGX approaching Hartlepool around 5 min early.

ECS off the 16:50 just passed through Seaburn @ 20:42 so i assume it had a good run. Was a different set to the 12:30 with 068 on the rear, didn't see what was on the front.

I was at Sunderland at lunchtime hoping to see the 12:30 depart and curious about what was working it. It was delayed until 13:20 with the platform announcement citing 'technical problems with the train'. The HST set came in from the Newcastle direction but with standard class at the London...

It would have been the 16:50 ex KGX heading home. It passed in the opposite direction around Brockley Whins at about 20:45 when I was on the 20:30 ex Newcastle to Sunderland pacer.

I would have been pleased to meet you, Sir Clag! Will watch out for you next time. Been following your posts on this thread since it started. I was in the re-designated 1st class coach in use as coach B, having joined the train off an XC from Birmingham. I see the Thunderbirds were go...

Just done York - Sunderland on the 16:50 ex KGX. 084/123 pairing. On time at York, about 5 late into Sunderland. Apparently the cable thieves have been active down the coast again, given as the reason for the delay. 57 301/308 in Holgate sidings at York --- old post above --- --- new post...

Looks like it was neither. The 47s were on the 13:42 and passed Hall Dene a few minutes late. Would be interested to hear what happened south of York.

ECS off the 17:35 passed through Seaburn @ 22:42 last night. Must have arrived at Sunderland on time. 065/123 combination sounding good. The Joint Line and Durham Coast! - some trip (assuming it ran throughout). The 47s were at Sunderland at noon yesterday and ran out to Ryhope Grange...

Just watched the ECS off the 16:50 pass through Seaburn @ 20:42. 123 on the back, didn't see what was on the front, presumably 065 if it was at Kings Cross earlier. Would like to think these two are now sorted. Hope they are ok for next Tuesday!
