    Physcometric test fail

I got a trainee drivers job last year. Practised the bourdon religiously before I went. When I started practising I was averaging 12-13 lines with 2,3,4 mistakes. I made a conscious effort to slow down slightly and by the time I came to sit the test was averaging 10-11 lines with 0,1 mistakes...

Virgin Trains West Coast Apprentice Train Driver

Any question about the course or anything, feel free to pm me. There are 10 on my course, 3 from the trainee positions from the apprentice role this year, a few internals and a few who were in a pool from the previous years apprentice intake. Cheers

Virgin Trains West Coast Apprentice Train Driver

Learning is the main thing, I found the cbi the toughest part but you’ll know what to expect next time and I’m sure you’ll get there.

    Train Driver Medical Standards

Hi SAlty, I had my medical a couple of weeks ago. I had the chart with one eye covered at a time but I also had a short sighted test too. I had to hold a card in front of me at arms length and there were 3 paragraphs on it with different sizes of writing, had to read the smallest size of...

    Relocation

Hi Richard, Congratulations on the post! I’m probably going to definitely need to look at sharing as I’ll still be paying a mortgage in Glasgow too. I’ll PM you when I get in from work later and we could have a chat

    Relocation

Hi Mojo, thanks for the reply. Yeah my salary will be £36-37k initially although I’ll still have a mortgage and bills to pay up in Glasgow as my partner can’t move down here due to work commitments. I reckon I’ll have around £1500 a month to play with down here but obviously I don’t want to go...

Obviously I don’t know, but it seems to me they wouldn’t tell everyone on the same day if there is a chance some people (relocations) turn the offer down. I have been offered to be put in the talent pool as a second option if I don’t want to relocate. Hope you hear something soon!

I and another one of the people relocating have been given the weekend to think about it, discuss it with our families etc as I originally applied for Glasgow, so as you can imagine, the phone call on Friday asking me to go in as a trainee out of London came as a total shock

Hi Zilla, hopefully you’ll find out something from Virgin imminently. I didn’t realise what the full situation was until I read some of the posts this morning. It appears they’ve chosen 3 apprentices and 3 trainees then (I know for a fact that at the very least, 2 of those positions are relocations)
