Major changes coming to Guildford Friary Bus station from 01/09/2026.
The stops in Commercial road are removed as part of the new North Street developments.
Some buses are now departing from North street (those to the east via London & Epsom roads) and also on the other side of shopping centre...
Will this not depend on Next Stop Announcement equipment fitting? (deadline 01/10/26) Some of the B7tl are fitted, a small number of GSC fleet are not yet fitted, with a little over 4 weeks to go. Non equipped vehicles can still be used on closed door, so may survive a little longer. Anyone with...
I have seen one of these with a simple route 20 diagram on the lower rear panel and a tagline indicating that they are funded by Surrey County council( Aldershot is in Hampshire but most of route 20 is in Surrey. Note Route 1 is aprox 50/50 Surrey/Hampshire so I don't know how the funding...
Wild speculation on my part and I am sure that someone with far more knowledge is going to tell me why it can't be done.. but here goes: -
37 350/2 4 car units; could the TC vehicle (after being converted to all standard class) be removed from 19 of the units and added to 18 units to make

Forgive my cynicism but I do wonder if there is an element of 'playing the political/procedural game' going on here?
SWR/NR (soon to be GBR) know they have a problem with fare dodging and also issues around effectively staffing the Guildford Park Rd station entrance.
They have previously...
I will add my 10 pennyworth, Previous posters have covered most issues.
Fare dodging is rife & blatant.
I don't think anyone has mentioned that BTP have offices underneath the bridge, so potential enforcement is a few metres away?
An alternative walking route into town (for some people...
Much as like the idea of former military staff getting 'tough' with aggressive fare dodgers, modern day reality/laws/policy means that isn't gonna happen, viz supermarket staff sacked for 'having a go'. Hope they close it to non rail ticket holders asap (I will gladly walk a few 100 meters further)
The Guildford Park rd gateline is frequently manned by 'temp' staff, who will open the gate to virtually anyone who asks, presumably to avoid confrontations. Plus the gates are often unmanned in the evenings. It's a Fare dodgers paradise.
Yutong electric 83007 on display in Guildford High St today (Sunday 14/06) this time in the middle of the high street.
Went on board, had a look at the driving position, cameras instead of wing mirrors, 'nearside camera' is actually mounted more in the centre of bus, to the left of centre.
Very...
I assume the 3 open toppers mentioned will be convertibles, so a manufacturer is now prepared to build convertibles, likely in this case to be Wrights?
(Past posts have indicated that ADL/Wrights weren't interested in building convertibles in recent years).
Just viewed the Gov.co site for operator licences under Plymouth Citybus and noticed that as well as existing sites at Milehouse and Cornwall they have added Camborne (45), Summercourt (45) Falmouth(25) & Truro (35) i.e the First depots/outstations.
Travelled on a brand new Volvo Safeguard bus the other day (75 reg, only in service 2 weeks), Audio/Visual screen fitted, had a visual display of route number, destination, date and time. But the centre of the screen permanently displayed "McKenna", no visual next stop, no audio announcements...
