Really don't seem to have many answers on this reset:
* How much does reducing the speed save? What is the design speed now? I thought the plan was to start running at a lower speed and gradually/overnight increase speed.
* Will there be the expected reduction in capacity North of Birmingham...
Seems like the report does a lot of changing the goal posts to justify it's cost savings. For example they admit that changing to ballasted track which affects the speed does not take into account the whole life costs which HS2 did.
So it could mean all these savings are not really that big but...
Nearly all the screens and dot matrix displays on the national network are made by Infotec who configure them to each operator. They all use the same software from reading their website so could all be updated to be consistent, at least in terms of software.

How does the tendering process work? If a company decides to bid for running a service that then becomes unsustainable (e.g. they low-ball so government payments no longer meet their costs) what difference is this to the franchise model where this was the cause of most failures? Surely this...
Question: Does the 345 have a single gangway door on one of the carriages. There is a button that can be seen here: https://www.ianvisits.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/elizabeth-train-launch-07.jpg where the gangway is narrower then usual. Any reason for this?
