looks like I'll have to keep my nerve and wait, I have a back up plan which doesn't use EC, Thetford to Nottingham then Nottingham to Barnetby (via lincoln), which I am now going to instead of hull, as then i can cycle over the Humber bridge to the ferry port.

I can't understand it as they are selling expensive tickets so the trains must be running, so wht not release the cheap tickets?

You'll love it, I've done it 4 times, it's a great experience. Forget running for a time, just run to enjoy it

Thanks - (only luggage is panniers on the bike, I did the station to port last year, it's nice and flat, and a pleasant ride if you like industrial area's and prisons, as this is all you see on route)

Thats my big fear when i travel, having bus replacement but not knowing before I set out, and having to leave my bike somewhere, which would be abit of a bummer this time as I'm going on a cycle holiday

Maybe it has something to do with the great north run in Newcastle, as its that weekend and they know they can fill the trains
