One of the only times a light engine doesnt run as a O code is when it is going to assist a failed train. It normally runs as 1Z99 ( well it used to anyway).

I believe that the 60's will be kept in store until there is more traffic for them. They are in warm store at 2 or 3 locations. It would be criminal not to use them again cause they arent that old and still have plenty of life in them.

I see that, according to this months Todays Railways Uk, National Rail Enquiries are moving to India from 2010. Does anyone think this will be an improvement?????? I doubt it myself.

Its such a shame they are starting to cut up the 56's. Some of them have plenty of life left. The later ones were built in 1984/85.
