    You go onto full pay when you are qualified, after your training course and after you have finished learning your routes. Usually this is around 4 months after starting providing you progress ok?

In answer to the question regarding holidays, i would imagine that you would go to the bottom of the list this time around as they make no exceptions for holidays etc, you either want the course or the holiday!     They won't run a course just for Hollyhead it wouldn't make any sense. There is a min requirement numbers wise to run a course.
