Are you sure? My PAYG Oyster was registered online, I went to the LU ticket booth at Waterloo, gave the guy my OC, showed my YP railcard and 30 seconds later, maybe less, I had it loaded on.
This is true, but due to poor ticket inspections on trains, this is quite easy to get away with. I've regularly got the train between Brighton and Southampton and although Southern have some of the friendliest and most helpful staff I've come accross and they check tickets, I've rarely had mine...

When you buy a ticket that has a TOC with Connections on it, are the connections printed on the tickets only a suggestion, as they don't appear to have reservations on them, or are they ridgidly enforcable...
