Excellent photos as usual Dave, every time i try to take a picture on a moving train, it ends up as a blurry mess! A couple of questions for m'learned engineers on here: 1. What are those things on the wall on picture A592e? 2. On photo A568t & A568k, the horizontal dangly bits look much less...

Sure I saw earth wire into Farnworth tunnel this morning but the camera on my phone isn't working so couldn't get a picture sorry. Also noticed what I assume to be ATF wires at points between Farnworth and SFD.

Similar situation at Hall I' Th' Wood this morning - wood on the floor and some studs being put in - had a chat with two friendly Orangemen who confirmed the works (on both platforms) are for ticket machine installation.

I'd just be grateful for any type of screen at Hall i' th' Wood! TVM would be nice too.

A chain is a well established unit of measurement, albeit not used much outside the railway industry nowadays. When I joined this forum, I didn't know this either, (and there's still a hell of a lot I don't know - this forum contains a huge wealth of knowledge) but I looked it up! :smile...
