I’m looking for the HST castle diagrams currently operating……. They appear on rail tour info/loco hauled but also on groups.io however they are different !! Which is correct please ?

Why by now haven’t the Uk taken a look at what other countries do ? Here in Denmark, you go in to a 7Eleven (former ticket office or other station facility) where the DSB/7Eleven staff can sell you your train ticket and or a flat white with a donut !! I’ve seen the same in Netherlands & Sweden……

I think it’s fair to say that probably everyone on here loves rail and defends rail travel to the hilt……. I certainly do - but I feel we are missing the point here: yes they are talking extremes and skewing it to show rail in a bad light, but surely that’s what we need - more programmes like...

Back in the 80’s a permanent early turner that lived in Farnboro’ & regularly fell asleep on the way home...... told the story of how as usual he fell asleep and missed his stop - woke up at Hook in a daze, jumped off just as a train was coming in on the other side in the other direction...

I had 3x class 50’s plus 2x class 20’s on a preserved line which was quite something....... I didn’t really ask the question properly..... but have found it very interesting none the less thanks....

having just watched catchup of worlds most scenic rail journies - New Zealand where the train goes through Arthur’s Pass using 4x their fruit salad locos at 3300hp each, total 13,200hp....... having been on it - it’s very impressive. I wondered what the UKs most powerfully booked passenger...

Yes I do get that - but in last nights that a long distance journey was being done on a local train with 6+4 seating commuter train is very poor even to a non train person.....

ive just watched the new BBC drama gold digger....... 3 times they showed an exterior of an HST for a journey to or from Paddington & Devon which is ok despite them being recently replaced....... but each time the interior shots were in a Thames Turbo (or similar) Has there ever been a UK rail...

Going back many many years........ that a Capital Card ( what travelcards are now for the younger readers) could be used to Edinburgh.... when told no - “But Edinburgh is a capital isn’t it” It says on the board “replacement bus service....... what platform does the replacement bus go from”...

when he was alive my Dad regularly complained that modern day services on his line to Portsmouth were 14 minutes slower than BR days...... as I have quoted this a couple of times I wondered if this was actually so - I have no old BR timetable to refer to....... Thanks SM Chobham International
