Bit cheeky to charge for use when GWR showers at Paddington, Truro & Penzance are free of charge for Sleeper users ?

As we are now rapidly nearing the end of August what is the general feeling about how services have coped with peak summer loadings this year with the reduced frequencies ?

HST 1st class was just about bearable but would insist on hotel instead of all nighter IET everytime.

Stagecoach are probably right - who wants to sit in a slow baking hot bus when a nice airconditioned car is a much nicer option when outside temperatures are reaching 35°

Both of those starting from Penzance should be formed of 9 car sets

I would most certainly get the tickets now as you are catching services starting from Penzance on the return trip which can be busy. If you are unable to travel you can still get a refund up to the day before outward journey. The forum ticket site is good for chosing a specific seat when reserving.

The Norwich airport Brewers Fayre/PI does very well with non-resident diners (partially due to adjacent large suburb with just 1 pub with a debatable food offering) Many of the staff have been there 10 years plus which makes a big difference.

But can you get "free" 1st class tickets on it ? :lol: but seriously have Silver rail not learned anything from the GWR shambles ??

Royal buses are going to run St Ives (including camp sites) to Lands End on Tuesdays in August. They are also running Thursday evenings to Lands End for firework displays. You can book tickets in advance (£10) & facebook comment from operator suggests they will all operate fully booked. GA...
