I traveled on a Class 150 Northern service to Leeds yesterday morning and they had these fluorescent style LED lights that were super bright and totally uncovered!
These lights really can't be comfortable to passengers with eye conditions and those who are susceptible to migraines, like myself...
Just noticed the new flooring outside the station is now covered with fag ends and gum. They've only just put the floor down and people can't wait to defile it!
Why can't people show consideration for their own actions?
What a world we live in..
I only visit family in Liverpool a couple of times a year so I wasn't really aware of the TPE franchise consultation.
I don't really want to go into too much personal detail, but I have an absolute maximum window of 3 hours to spend with my family before I have to head back home to Leeds...
I've just been checking the time tables for services between Leeds <=> Liverpool South Parkway and have been shocked to see that there is no longer any direct service. I will have to change at Man Oxford Road before boarding a Northern service to Parkway.
This isn't good enough for me as I have...
Does anyone know whether Horsforth Woodside station will ever be built on the Harrogate Line? This station was supposed to be opening in 2014 and nothing seems to have been done on this.
I am a regular user of Horsforth station and feel that the area needs a new station situated by the...
That is because they have painted the ceiling of the main concourse. I seem to gather someone complained it was dark and dingy so a splash of white paint has been applied to brighten it up. I think it would have been better to rip the roof off and put in a glass roof like Kings across station...
Yeah I've been past that station before on a TPE service through Manchester and I'm not even sure that would qualify as a station. It looks like something time forgot.
That's why I said it's the worst station I've used, not the worst station in the UK.
I agree it's functional, but that's besides the point; Kings Cross station was perfectly functional before the improvements were made. I know this because I've been there a few times in the past.
You're quite right that Leeds station was modified around 10 years ago to expand it to cope with the expected increase in passenger numbers. Extra platforms were added to widen the station as well as putting a new roof on so that it covers the new platforms.
This isn't what I am complaining...
Once again London gets brand new trains and we get their 319 cast off's. It's an absolute disgrace and needs to stop. These trains are over 30 years old so they're not exactly 'new' trains in the sense of the word.
As a regular rail commuter in Leeds I have been bitterly disappointed to find that Leeds City Station in the city centre is only receiving a lick of paint to the main concourse instead of receiving a make over on the scale of the recent Kings Cross redevelopment. The existing 1960's structure...
This.
From now one this is what I will have to start doing if my usual train ends up on a different platform.
I once remember getting on a Liverpool bound Northern Rail service at Newton-le-willows, intending to get off at Rainhill only to find that it didn't stop until we got to Wavertree...
