If this is becoming standard Northern behaviour (I note a few threads on it here) then I’m deeply uncomfortable with it. Convictions on these charges can have huge impacts on people’s life, ability to work etc. and they shouldn’t be writing to people on the off chance that they might have done...
At Leeds and various CrossCountry services are running pretty dang late due to train crew being out of position. Also been fair few cancellations/curtailments due to lack of crew, so could well be that it got stuck waiting for a crew member.
I think this is a big part of the issue. If the mission that TfL's revenue protection people are being given is 'prevent as much loss as possible with a budget of £X' then I'd imagine spotting people using short faring tricks to commute to work, travelling daily on their mum's freedom pass/kid's...
May also be a bit awkward for the government as the fare changes will be far more visible, rather than just disappearing into a bank statement for most users.
In those situations, nobody is on the AWC train on an LNER or TPE ticket because they're trying to beat the system or underpay their fare. They're trying to get where they want to be and will probably be hours late. Fair play to the TM for seeing it that way.
The best explanation I can come up with is that the XC services eventually got on was 10 mins late, causing me to miss a ScotRail connection I could’ve maybe picked up under other circumstances. Still feels all since the thing was kicked off by LNER cancelling the train (obviously the whole...
Eventually made it 3 hours late. There was a not very heavily advertised CrossCountry train out of Newcastle that left with half the seats empty (again, the oh the ground comms game wasn’t the best) at around 1440. Eventually got to Dundee about 4 hours later than billed.
Delay repay has gone...
Last one to make it here was on the screen until it fell off. I more just meant people standing around on platforms without any overall input on the situation a likely next steps.
Made it to Newcastle, 3 hours after leaving York on a bus. It’s a mess here. No information beyond the automated announcements, which aren’t that helpful as several trains have been terminated after reaching Newcastle. No sign of buses north and nobody sharing general information (the info...
Attempting to get from Leeds to Dundee. To be honest, if I’d known about the problems in Scotland before getting on a rail replacement bus from York to Newcastle, I’d have probably gone back to Leeds and resolved to try again tomorrow. Buses at York were pretty well managed but very unsure about...
Underwhelmed by the crew from Aberdeen to Edinburgh today who closed off first class service after Leuchars to allow for a crew change at Edinburgh. Surely it doesn’t take that long?
If the Hex was to be discontinued, what would happen to the paths on the fast lines that they use? My understanding is that it's not possible to go from the Elizabeth Line tunnel to the fast tracks, so it's not like they could simply be replaced by extending some of the EL Paddington...
Christmas Menu is out and with the exception of some unexplained 'Christmas Ketchup' is not Christmassy at all
