Perhaps but one can't deny the cost the underground has towards the city. As folks have mentioned, around 230 - 250 million quid has been quoted in cost. So while people can adapt and WFH, the financial impact will remain extremely high and in turn leading to unsustainability to this city of...
From an operational standpoint, yes the Piccadilly line is more important than the Bakerloo! Despite that, Bakerloo seems to be run better than the Piccadilly!
These days the entire line has been suffering badly from lack of staff, high turnover and limited fleet capacity. Hence why I think it...
The worst line has got to be the Piccadilly line! I know it's a favourite for enthusiasts but the line in terms of service provision, recovery and management seems to be the worse out of them all. When an issue hits the picc, the aftermath recovery phase is drawn out and tends to last till COT...
I don't think having a degree should be a stringent requirement either. The role of Train Driver is great and brings so many varying groups together. Different ages, different backgrounds and different occupuations! We have graduates, people that used to work in the force, military personnel...
It is oftenish. There is alot going in within the company at the moment with regard to shuffles and potential role changes but there is always a big turnover with regard to CSAs so the company always has a need to replenish the waiting lists and staffing numbers.
We also have a few internal...

Whenever I get asked what I do or whenever I tell people what I do. They always find it fascinating that I drive trains.
When I first got the job, my family would ask with interest as to why and I would simply tell them because I get paid a lot to sit on my arse lol. There are the usual...
Strikes are never a good thing but an absolute last resort when no other solution presents itself.
I do wonder what ASLEF is planning though. Over here at LUL, RMT are coordinating action with the rest to maximise the impact.
We have talk in the mess rooms for more coordinated 'attacks' but...
There are fair number of cover groups. I can't really disclose the whole list here.
I can DM you later if you want.
Do you know where you'll be deployed? Usually they tell you in your first week of training but of course circumstances might be different now due to the Covid-19 situation.
Station resourcing try to allocate you a group that's close to where you live though usually it ends up being opposite to where you live. It's quite common on the underground for new starters and those having gone through promotionals so take that as it may.
Cover groups consist of the station...
You'll find background isn't too relevant when it comes to applying for TFL.
It's usually on the basis of your application, competencies if you reach the interview & luck. Recruitment at TFL can sometimes be a tick-box exercise...
But backgrounds range massively.
If they were to recruit for CSA's again it will most likely be for Night Tube if anything and that won't be till next year. There's quite a large influx of CSA's atm and they'll be waiting for movement/promotionals before recruiting for full time CSA's.
There have been quite a few internal...
Hi Malala. TFL did quite a few major recruitment campaigns for the CSA role. They also still have a fair no of Night Tube CSA's still on the waiting list from the recent Night Tube CSA campaign so I don't think they will be recruiting for CSA's any time soon.
Keep an eye out for other roles I...
Right. They must be sifting applications then. Since there wasn't much internal interest due to the low profile of the campaign. Good luck with your interview and be sure to let me know how it goes.
I'm not a traffic manager myself (as I said, I did apply for it as well but still awaiting a...
