Looking this morning at future travel, the train I would typically book into London, I've so far looked at every Tuesday between now and December, the cheapest advance I can see is £69.70, the train 30mins later cheapest is £59.40.
I'll check my spreadsheet but believe if booking far enough in...
I'm seeing similar increases, where as previously I could pick up an advance single for £40-£45 into London before 8:30, I'm now only able to get a fare of £65 or higher. Booking 8+ weeks out doesn't seem to help and ECML seems to be £70 minimum one way.
Although not particularly comfortable or...
Cooked breakfast these days on EMR means either Hot Bacon Roll (no butter) Vegan Sausage Roll (not tried it) or Porridge.
If you want a proper breakfast make sure you choose the right LNER service.
I've been keeping an eye on LNER fares, DON-KGX in particular and unless I've missed all of the cheaper advances I haven't been able to find instances of sub £73.50 for any train due to arrive into KGX before 9am Mon-Thu. Pre Pandemic I'm sure £49.50 was generally possible when booking greater...
There was also a carriage on the M1 yesterday evening travelling south on the M1 yesterday evening, can't recall the specific junction but was below Junction 29.
Had a work trip (self funded) planned for a few weeks time, booked via LNER but traveling exclusively on XC and London Midland, mixture of Anytime and Advance Tickets. Raised a refund request via LNER account, after a short time and manual intervention I received all monies back without being...
Although I picked up some tickets recently from a new (or what I thought was a new) Northern touch screen machine, the LNER tickets I had stated "Virgin EC" guard on LNER train had a double take on ticket check.
I used to do SHF to Euston fairly regularly but noticed within the last 3 or so months the SHF-NUN portion as gone from £17~ to £47. Tamworth is cheaper to split at now but no where near the £30~ Total single price I was getting for a pre 10am arrival into Euston
I feel sorry for MML users between Leicester and Chesterfield, I had the unfortunate experience of standing from Tamworth back to Sheffield a few times. Awful.
All I can see happening is the 180s breaking down and then blocking the line, to cause further havoc.
I can't imagine booking any further journeys on the MML if/when they get the Hull 180s. I currently avoid Hull & Grand Central over reliability. LNER tend to be cheaper than Grand Central these days too.
Current pricing levels I find LNER cheaper to Sheffield via Doncaster with little...
