At least you gave it a try, and was lucky enough to be able to move to another depot soon enough. Find myself in a similar position giving up a 20/30 minute drive for an 1:15 public transport commute. Some good for thought.

Interesting to hear, how long was your commute? Was it by public transport or driving?

That’s a fair point, sitting on a train for an hour as opposed to 30 minutes in traffic would be much less stressful. Weighing up the pros and cons at the moment, and also leaving the comfort of what I used to for something new.

Find myself in a similar position now, potentially moving TOCs and doubling my commute to around an hour plus. Interested to hear how things have worked out for yourself?

I was a HGV driver before starting my driver course when I was 30. Go for it you won’t regret it!

20k start up to 26k at week 11 and week 38 onto 40k then on full wage once all assessments passed

I was part of Freightliners last recruitment process, we done stage 1 one day paper tests etc, and stage 2 computer tests and mmi on a separate day a week or so later.

I just used the practice material they send out, fairly similar to the actual tests, a printed a few of the dots test to have a crack at. Good luck with it
