GBRf Class 99 - 30 locomotives now ordered

Has anyone heard anything about 012 or 013 projected arrival dates. Seem to be getting few updates now. 011 had been in the country for a day or so before any information appeared

GBRf Class 99 - 30 locomotives now ordered

According to vessel finder, EMS Cape is 88m long and 11m wide. Looks like it only has deck cargo. Surely too small.

GBRf Class 99 - 30 locomotives now ordered

Ship quoted on WNXX as bringing 99010 to the UK "EMS Cape" is indeed heading for Avonmouth but still a way out. It is only 88 metres long per the Internet. Might be wrong but looks a bit tiddly for such a delivery. Also, it the RTT entry is correct for collection tomorrow, it would be a bit...

GBRf Class 99 - 30 locomotives now ordered

Hi, Apologies if I have missed something. Is there any date rough date or vague idea yet for the next new deliveries.

    Most Disappointing Rolling Stock.

Chiltern mk5s fairly disappointing. Can't believe that nearly every table doesn't align with a window. Surely the main plus point of any journey is the view from the window. How / why on earth have they been designed that way? Why hasn't it been corrected. Surely just shift everything down by 3...

Anyone know whether they have arrived yet or still on course for 12th?

Chiltern MK5s Starting 2026 (non speculative updates thread)

Southbound working today at 13.45 from Moor Street was 68032. Mark 5 service lunch day with Saxaphone player on the platform and goodie bags being given away.

You would think that rail transport would be easier, but you never know in this wacky world.

I agree that spotters needs are of no importance whatsoever to the companies involved, but presumably they or their staff will will need to read the number. If not, why have it there at all.

    Class 93 Tri-mode Loco

I understand that 93008 and 10 went through Rugby earlier en route to Derby RTC to Wolverton with barrier vehicles. Working to Longsight around 11am so fair probability they will be on that. 1763644915 Sitting at Wolverton. Return working cancelled

Window Hanging Again - heritage railway enthusiast says its ok

Thanks for posting. Interesting and useful. However, think the fear of liability, litigation, compensation, reputational damage must weigh pretty heavily on the minds of railways. The inconvenience to every other customer of suspended /cancelled services must also be a big factor.

Window Hanging Again - heritage railway enthusiast says its ok

The legal and insurance implications, potential litigation, line closure both on the day and potentially long term closures and resultant disruption to all the other travellers have to override the wishes of those few who want to stick their heads out of the window. That is just the way it is...

    Battlefield line

Yes. I would think the scrapyard also. Shame. Clearly won't be a runner again, but would have made a great static exhibit. Made watertight and a repaint. Empty engine room would have made a useful parts store.

Class 222 withdrawal from EMR and future use (non-speculative)

When the 222s go to Scotrail, and if the 810s not all delivered, there will be surplus HSTs that EMR might want to lease to fill the short term gap (joking before someone takes me seriously)
