I have seen that mentioned before somewhere and I reckon you are right because Gilberdyke doesn't have any ticket facilities whatsoever. I know there's a self service mach. at Goole but I can't see the point of Mam getting the bus to Goole when she lives 3 mins walk away from the station. She...
Thanks again guys for all the replies and advice. It's much appreciated. :)
However, having taken the booking process right through to the final payment page, there was no mention of having to pay for postage on EMT's site at all :|
Unless you were referring to getting the tickets sent by...
Thanks very much peeps. Just checked myself and they are indeed as you say. Thanks for the heads-up re: using a TOC site as well. I can book them through East Midlands trains with no Booking Fees and seeing as they are on Quidco, I can get another couple of quid off.
Thanks again.
Thanks for the reply Ainsworth, much appreciated. However.......Just had a text from my sister (that's where my Mam is going) and I got the dates completely wrong
She's going out on 4th December (after 9am if poss) and returns on 9th December (again departing after 9am if poss) so I'll...
Hi Guys.
I just wondered if some of you ticket guru's could confirm a trip that my Mam is going to be making please ?
She has a Senior Railcard and is travelling out from Gilberdyke to Reading, departing 09:50 on 5/12/14, one change at Doncaster.
Returning Reading to Gilberdyke...

Hi Paul. I haven't actually applied for any of the jobs this time as I'm in a bit of a strange position at work atm that precludes me from seeking other employment (too much to explain) but I wish you good luck on your attempt.
I presume this is one of the assessments that has to be carried out as a shortlisting exercise ? It would be interesting to find out how many applicants have been listed for this latest batch of vacancies after seeing the amount that were tendered for FTPE :o
Thanks for all the advice up to now. Just checked that option of yours Oscar & it seems really good because in both directions, my mam 'n' our lass would be on the same train that actually stops at the stations req'd (i.e. Change at Donny, then stay on the train at Thorne thro' to Gilberdyke)...
Thanks for that Ian. I used eastcoast.co.uk and I got a price for all tickets of £72 Not too bad at all for a day out for me old mam as a pressie.
D'oh I still had senior railcard ticked in the options coz I remember my mam used to have one but she hasn't renewed it !!!
Thanks again guys...
Manchester Metrolink ? Basically, our lass wants to take my mam to Bury Market and I've worked the train fares out OK (£48.20 return for the pair of them) from Gilberdyke to Manchester Piccadilly but I'm not too certain if I can buy tickets online for the Metrolink services ?
We're looking at...
From the point of view of a newbie ( last time on train was a cravens out of hull in the late 70's ) I must say that the class 170 ( I think ) I travelled on out of hull was lovely. Quiet, brisk and very comfortable. Although the guards announcement that "We apologise for the overcrowding on...
