    New TPE first class menu

My trip was delayed to recently but I can confirm there was a full catering service - choice of cheese and ham toastie or toasted teacake in 1st along with choice of snacks (biscuits/crisps) and drinks. Not as extensive a choice as LNER but decent value for the ticket cost in my view

    New TPE first class menu

I was looking at taking the 18:15 Newcastle - Edinburgh when returning north after a day trip in a couple of weeks time. Does it have the full Express Plus menu in First Class? I suspect it should be the last northbound one with catering, but thought I would check before booking in case others...

    Cross Boundary Tickets

Its disappointing when there has clearly been agreement reached for the Under 21 ticket to be valid on direct services into Tess Valley but not the adult ticket

    Cross Boundary Tickets

That was my understanding of it too :'( That the Durham County boundary was the border and you needed to buy an Explorer North East to cross it (or at least that was what I have been buying to do that) https://www.northeast-ca.gov.uk/bus-travel-exceptions Product Validity Zone Durham Day...

    LNER Advance Fare oddity

Thanks for the info, it just seemed a strange thing so I thought someone on here would know

    LNER Advance Fare oddity

Interesting, thanks for confirming. I understand that L & K fitted on the platform ok, is it the lack of M though that is enough to prevent first advance fares being available? 1665602680 It's an option but tends to be a bit more, it just seemed strange when the same short platform issue...

    LNER Advance Fare oddity

I was looking at fares to Kirkcaldy on the northbound LNER service that leaves London Kings Cross at 14:00. There are generally standard class advances available for most journey origin points, but no first class advances to Kirkcaldy on this train showing. I wondered if there wasn't any...

    Worst Purchase/ Takeover/ Acquisition

Another Strathclyde area example I'll suggest was the takeover by West Coast Motors of John Morrow Coaches. An earlier John Morrow operation had been taken over by Kelvin Central but the later acquisition by WCM was of local routes in Clydebank. A few years later nothing was left, those routes...

    Trivia: Lost modern "classic" liveries

Good call on the Badgerline livery, it's nice to see its modern renaissance too

    Trivia: Lost modern "classic" liveries

I agree about the revised NW livery using a horizontal layout, it lost its flair and just seemed a bit like a poor imitation of Accrington corp. Funny you should mention the South Shields version with the blue, it was also my preferred version of the Busways livery, for me because it reflected...

    Trivia: Lost modern "classic" liveries

I rather liked the North Western blue/red Diagonal livery and Northumbria red/white/grey. I recall reading they were from the same design agency but my memory isn't good enough to remember which. The earlier Kelvin yellow front livery with the broad blue band that continued along the skirt I...

Your all-time favourite bus trip (and why?). Reports welcome

I particularly like a bit of variety on a journey, setting out from a large town or city, having a mix of dual carriageway or motorway for a bit of speed and then a bit of rural road. A few have already been mentioned but some I have enjoyed (in no particular order) are: Parks (Citylink) M91...

Smart Ticketing Information website for Scotland

I have stumbled across this site: https://smarttravel.scot/ It lists the various smart ticketing options and lists the smartcards available. Not sure why it counts the Transpennine Express smartcard as non ITSO and the First Aberdeen "touch" card is missing, but an interesting site.

London Travelcard combined with Super Off Peak Return Query

EMR have come back and agreed to refund the whole fare and the details will be "passed to the relevant manager to provide any further training needed". Acceptable result, thanks for the advice and thoughts.
