As I understand it - if he were to pass the assessments with Arriva, these results would also stand for South Western. You just need to be aware that some TOCS want enhanced scores and some don't. If he failed any tests with Arriva, he would be ruled out of taking the same test with South...

Pretty sure Northern are standard, with Transpennine, Arriva and East Midlands being enhanced. However, on speaking to OPC they have said that 'enhanced' pass marks all vary depending on the TOC.
I'd be reapplying straight away - nothing to lose. Imagine if your initial application is no longer on their system and the job closes before HR reply to your email...

I believe they will ask you to do distance reading with each eye separately, so if your 'reading' eye doesn't meet the distance minimum then I'd assume you wouldn't pass. Safer to wear normal contacts or glasses for the test I would think...
