It always quite fascinates me when small towns have a pretty extensive free bus service. I always wonder how it's justified, when there are plenty of bigger towns across the UK that go without.

On the subject of Flyer, was there any further development or talk of the service running 24 hours? I recall it was briefly mentioned in a couple of press reports when Transdev took over the service but due to Covid and the various restrictions at the time it seemed to have been forgotten about.

That was a change made by Alex Hornby, using the logic that 'route number' goes to 'destination'. But then you could also say you can get to 'destination' on 'route number'. Change for the sake of change, and in this case not really for the better.
