There's at least four 180s (180109, 180110, 180111 and 180113) that have been in store, mainly Ely Papworth, for quite a while, and have been sent to Eastleigh TMD. Perhaps they're getting some TLC there, after their cold storage in the open, prior to strengthening the Grand Central operational...

Ermm .. the 805s have diesel engines as well! Pretty essential really along the north Wales coast.

What a fab shot. At least four in view - tho according to the TOPS report there are seven there - so where are the others? Are there really another three hidden behond the ones in the shot?

Can't remember the last time I saw a solo power car on the move on its own. Pairs, yes, but solo - when was the last time that happened?

Thanks 1D54. It looks like the fleet is significantly under-utilised though - out of 46 units. Perhaps little wonder they seem in no hurry to get 555022 into service .... even with the extension to Washington. I guess I'll have to keep chippping away.

I saw 99011 (with 99007) at Peterborough yesterday. I walked round the back of Leicester depot today (and trained past it) and didn't get so much as a glimpse of a single 99. There were various carriages (incl 975814) from the NMT with a single yellow NR HST power car.

153384 led me on a right merry dance, took me ages to track it down - helped by some wonderful contributors on this forum. And out of the blue it was sitting on the far side of Manchester Piccadilly at 7am yesterday morning.
