    Preston Bus

How are loading from Bamber bridge on the 23? According to recent local media reports, Preston bus, at the last accounts, made a loss of £200,000. Whether that includes the LCC contracts that don't go near Preston, is unknown. A few posts back, I did say that extending the 23, to get more...

    Preston Bus

But perhaps extending the 23, to compete with stagecoach, was to try and bring in extra income, to stem the losses, and turn preston bus into a profit making firm. Of course, they should have known that Stagecoach would probably retaliate, putting them back to square one. One other possible...

    Companies in competition with themselves

Didn't First do it in Bristol, when they bought Wessex coaches. They had a wessex service competing with a city line service.

    Stagecoach East Scotland

They were registered by Fife Scottish as dual purpose. Indeed on a fleet card of the time, the only "coaches " were two toilet fitted touring coaches at Aberhill.

Bus Driver Strikes - Lancashire and Greater Manchester

I expect the answer to this to be no, but in terms of either TfGM, or the operators, would either of them have any insurance, to cover lost revenue, during strikes?

Bus services run from different depots/outstations on different days

Until it gave up lochgelly high school contracts in 1994, Moffat and williamson operated one route from cardenden from glenrothes on Monday to Thursday, and St fort depot on a Friday. In the 90s, on the old route 34 from kirkcaldy to cowdenbeath via cardenden, run by fife Scottish, one diagram...

    Trivia: companies that share depots/outstations

Don't know if they still do, but Moffat and williamson used to outstation buses from their St Fort depot, in the Stagecoach east Scotland depot at Forfar.

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

Upgraded to a fully staffed depot. Has its own staff, own allocation of vehicles, which don't get changed every day, and has supervision. There are limited maintenance facilities, but large work gets done elsewhere. Bit like stagecoach east Scotland St. Andrews depot.

Lothian Group discussion (Lothian City, Lothian Country Bus and East Coast Buses)

Yes it is. In First days, it was an outstation of Musselburgh, but about 2010, it was upgraded to a full depot, following service and diagram changes. The total fleet is twelve vehicles.

Bus crashes in to a river in the Eastleigh area (26/06)

One question I would ask, could Hampshire police have recovered the vehicle, to one of their sites, for a full examination, before returning it to blue star?
