Free Bus Travel for young people: Soon to be in England.

There seems to be some inconsistency between bus companies on the age that children can travel unaccompanied on the free children's fare scheme. Go South Coast are saying that children under 11 must be accompanied by someone aged over 16 to travel for free. They specifically say that if a 15...

    Go South Coast

The 112 did have a frequency boost and was marketed as the "Beach Bus" (diverting via Lepe Beach) for 5 summers between 2013 and 2017 with discounts at local attractions. It was withdrawn due to falling use and an end to government funding, according to the National Park Authority.

Odd that they didn't continue it until the new 7/7A service starts on 23 May

Passport prices to increase yet again from next month.

For Schengen countries passports need to be valid for 3 months after the date you plan to leave. This is clearly stated on the FCO Travel Advice pages. There seems to be an urban myth that passports have to be valid for an extra 6 months for all countries.

Passport prices to increase yet again from next month.

Depends on the country you are travelling to. Most UK travel is to the EU which requires 3 months left on a passport, and you don't need any extra validity for travel to the USA.

    Russia invades Ukraine

Musk responded: "Be quiet, small man. You pay a tiny fraction of the cost. And there is no substitute for Starlink" and Marco Rubio added "And say thank you because without Starlink Ukraine would have lost this war long ago and Russians would be on the border with Poland right now"

Bus operators getting rid of return tickets.

Generally return tickets are difficult to implement with "Tap-on, tap-off" ticketing. I personally prefer single tickets, so that if I'm offered a lift home (or if I end up staying the night) I don't feel I've wasted money. With "Tap-on, tap-off" it also works out if a day ticket works out...

Trips by Bus and Coach: Your reports

The service 60 fare chart, downloadable from the Flagfinders website https://www.flagfinders.com/services/local-bus-services.htm actually includes a reference to the TravelEssex Saver ticket, so I would suggest that there is an-argument that it is valid!

Will Labour scrap the £2 fare Cap? (now confirmed will rise to £3)

The tory manifesto actually committed them to keeping the cap. https://www.conservatives.com/manifesto Obviously governments don't always stick to manifesto commitments, but it's unlikely that it would have been completely abandoned.
