YX09AFO/N 44905/6
Remember these were on the 29/129 to Mansewood (when First had it) and other routes of a similar status
These are shorter than the "newer" YX09xxx
44455 was on the 34 today, freshly painted, another one of this type was on the 34 as well
I feel these are a bit of a come...
First bus must waste an absolute fortune repainting buses for not much time left on the road!........always thought they would only go to the effort of a full paint job if a vehicle had a decent bit of shelf life left in it (unless something major / unlucky was to happen to it)
The engineers...
Anytime I take the 6, usually from Battlefield/ cathcart to either city centre or up to east Kilbride, it's its usually quite busy
A problem with the 6 though is that quite often two buses come nearly together after 20/30 minute gap with the single decker bus packed and another bus a few minutes...
The concept that made city sprinter (and similar independent 'minibus' operators across other major routes) popular was that:
It was a good bit cheaper, £1.50 to the city centre from Eastwood toll versus £2 with First on their 38
It was a good bit faster than First bus......they seemed to fly...
Interesting that they're going on the 201
The 201 fairly recently received branding (very similar colour to the one)
Seen a good few enviro200 ev on the 34a today, at least 4
A lot more on the 7 and 7A including the dark green 7 branded example
I wonder if any of the e200 ev will get branded...
See with the LEZ, have all the B9TL 37*** buses have been upgraded to E6 / LEZ standard?
There must be some routes out there that will get them and I wouldn't be surprised if they get a good 20 years out of the best examples of them, considering they're getting nearly 19 years out of the LK03***...
The route branding seems to be not too bad, very rear for anything other than a yellow bus to be on the 75
But see when a branded bus appears on another route(quite common with Saturday timetables or on a sunday) it is usually an pleasant upgrade to what that route usually had like ie a mint...
With the LEZ regulations coming in, I thought these would have stayed in Glasgow
Take them off the 75 and put them onto other major routes that go through the city centre and bring the % of LEZ compliant vehicles up
They would have been a welcome upgrade to the 4, 5, 60, 57 plus other routes
67020 and the other pink/purple front 68 plate buses have been on the 9 since this week along with the electrics
The electric buses have been on the 65 since this week along with the usual pink/ purple 65 branded buses
The 65 branded buses have also been on the 31 every day this week
