Nope, nothing yet. Was going to call them on Monday if still nothing as I am off up North for a couple of days, could even pick them up from Doncaster?!

I'm due to start a training course in May. I applied last year as the timing fitted in with leaving the RAF, never really thought about train driving as a career, but I'm really quite excited about it now. Will make a change from fixing Chinooks. If I'd not got through the driver assessments...

Good Luck to all starting on Monday! Wish I was there, but it looks like the May one for me. It's probably going to work out better that way anyway, it means I can wrap up my company account and start afresh, and get a cheeky month off before I start. Just need to get something in writing...

Where are you based? I had a look at Eastleigh, and it consists of a few portacabins - can't imagine much classroom stuff going on there. TBH I don't know what to expect, I know I have the job - although sometimes that doesn't seem real as nothing on paper yet - but no idea of the training...

I assume this is after the initial classroom stage?

Hmmm, when she phoned with the verbal offer she wasn't sure if it was going to be a January or May start. I've just re-read the email from Monday and it says "We couldn't accommodate everyone on the January courses so you will be starting on the May course". Well, here's hoping for an earlier...

Looks like I am on the May course now. Bit gutted to be honest, just wanted to start as soon as possible. Oh well, at least I have a job in the meantime which pays alright, suppose it means I can put some money aside for the pay drop. Good luck to everyone starting in January!!
