Just FYI I used to do some work at Mercia House. I also used to get the train to Derby. The walk from Derby train station was only around 30 minutes, through Pride Park. But I was summer when I was there so the walk didn’t seem to bad.

I’d also point out there are normally 13 pay days per year not 12 if you are trying to work out your monthly pay from your annual salary.

I’m sure when I joined NR as a signaller a fair few years ago there was a rule you couldn’t live more then an hours drive away from your box. I’m sure it was so if you were on twelves and they enforced a hours OT for whatever reason, you wouldn’t go over the 14 hours working. Or am I making it up?

Could someone settle an argument between a few of us? When applying for a Signaller job from the street everyone that answers the 70 odd questions gets through to the next online question stage dont they? Those selected to interview will be a certain number of the top scoring applicants.

Quick question. Is the application for different grades points based? For example you do the 70 questions and score 50 points, you can only get to the next stage for grade 4 jobs or under. I applied for a grade 2 previously and got through to the 2nd stage . But for grade three or four jobs...
