    Blackpool - Manchester Electrification

From what I could see around the evening peak it was a full electric service between Euxton and Lostock Junction. The northbound TPE became delayed as it was stuck behind the Man Vic - Preston stopper. I was a little surprised it didn't make use of the new platform at Bolton to overtake...

Provisional TPE timings Oxford Rd to Preston are typically 32 minutes after the May timetable change. This one shows 31 minutes: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/Y00586/2019/06/19/advanced My understanding was that 185s are not permitted to run at MU speeds.

Finally!! Great to see an electric train running through Buckshaw. I have added a (dreadful quality, sorry) video to go alongside the first electric runs on the Blackpool line. https://www.flickr.com/photos/147506051@N02/sets/72157679909475566/

I nearly gave up as well, but I thought it must be a 319 given the real time data on RTT between Oxford Road and Preston.

I have now uploaded vids of what I'm pretty sure are the first electric passenger services to and from Blackpool. 1U90 0843 Blackpool N to Airport. 1N42 1043 Airport to Blackpool N. Also 1F05 1132 Blackpool N to Liverpool LS. https://www.flickr.com/photos/147506051@N02/sets/72157679909475566/

Absolutely! I certainly wasn't expecting 5N19 to show up when it did.

Some vids of 319s to Blackpool, alongside Tom Benson Way. 5N19 running about 1 hour early, followed by 5F85. https://www.flickr.com/photos/147506051@N02/sets/72157679909475566/

I have added a couple of videos of the pendolino test runs. One shows the first test run accelerating away from Fylde Junction, and the second the return journey through Salwick. https://www.flickr.com/photos/147506051@N02/albums/72157679909475566

Also the May timetable shows 50 minute off peak journey times Preston to Lime Street, which is a significant improvement. Unfortunately, peak morning services will be stoppers though. http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/Y23223/2018/05/21/advanced

I took a few shots around the Kirkham Tip area today, including some DMU driver training runs. The footbridge on the Blackpool side has not been opened yet, but otherwise the work is looking complete. https://www.flickr.com/photos/147506051@N02/albums/72157679909475566

Great photos and pleasing progress. It also looks like both lines are fully wired along Tom Benson Way now.

I took a few shots this evening between Salwick and Preston. Still no wire on the Down line alongside Tom Benson Way. Did not see any sign of a gap on the Up but couldn't say for sure if it was completely plugged. https://www.flickr.com/photos/147506051@N02/sets/72157679909475566
