    LNER Stevenage Pickup/Setdown

We/I work in an industry where the message from up on high is that we have to pull out all the stops to encourage people back onto the railway as we continue to recover from the long term consequences Covid. How do we do that? Ban people from getting on trains when they've paid for a ticket...

Ongoing lack of honesty / transparency in station late train info

As someone who worked in this field a good few years ago, I think the thing that is often missed is this. If I was really lying to the passengers as is often claimed, I would just put the boards into disruption mode and the help points on divert and take a walk for smoke. Not that I ever did...

Trivia: Entire journeys outwith branded geographical description of operation of providing TOC

Southern run services North of their main area of operation in the South to Watford Junction (and formerly Milton Keynes)

    Possible disruption 19th September?

How long should it take? Have you ever replaced OHLE? I think it's a little more complex than just "stringing up" some new wire.

Rail industry preparing for national strikes

Haha, This may be the greatest single post I've ever read on this website.

Anyone have experience of using Tracsis for train crew diagramming?

It's certainly something that needs a good foundation of information, to give a quality working solution. It is not a case of opening the programme, pressing run and then a few minutes later out come 100% perfect diagrams. You need to put the work in the set up of it before you get the time...

Anyone have experience of using Tracsis for train crew diagramming?

As others have said, it will only produce what you allow it to produce. Tracsis will create “poor” diagrams if the input/rules/constraints it is given to work with aren’t well thought out.

My idea for a new south coast direct service from Weymouth to Folkestone

I would suggest that if they were that easy to find such a service would already be in existence. Can't see it ever happening due to pathing and a whole host of other issues aside.

    Waterloo to Guildford commute

Would depend on which route you take between Waterloo and Guildford and at roughly what time.

New South Western franchise: Awarded to First/MTR

Haha and there it is, knew I'd have missed something, didn't realise it was a franchise agreement, thanks! Seems like a sensible compromise, I guess there's a slight argument for them in the peak. However they'd be ghost trains if they had to run like that all day.

New South Western franchise: Awarded to First/MTR

Does anyone know what the thinking behind 4TPH to Windsor in the peaks is? Can't really see the reason for it myself but there's a good chance I've missed something.

    Virgin East Coast Twitter

It's a difficult one. You wouldn't get away with it at most places but it's been a USP for them for a while. A lot of customers seem to respond to their "way" of doing twitter. Not for me personally though...
