I've got a plan. Splitting tickets GLA-EUS, London Terminals to DVP (including HS1) and saver return on the ferry. Going by Eurostar at this short notice is only available at eye watering prices. Thanks for the offer of the WiFi code. Appreciated.
Seems the person who told me it would be cheaper to do that wasn’t aware of the revenue protection element or the one small bag rule. I’ll need to rethink the whole trip. Thanks for the very detailed reply it’s very much appreciated.
I’m looking to travel to Calais from London this Thursday returning on Monday. Could someone please advise how I would get the tickets and coupons (using two day returns as cheaper than separate rail and ferry tickets) at a non London office. Would be grateful if anyone could enlighten me on...
Thank you very much for all the information folks. Yer an awfy helpful bunch. As it happens we're off to Vienna (with trips to Bratislava and Budapest)first from Amsterdam after that well still not sure...Verona/Venice/Milan still deciding.
Stu, lots of jobs out at the moment you could apply for with First Scotrail. Once in post you can apply for internal vacancies which come out every Wednesday so long as you're 6 months in post (and past probation obviously).
Bon Chance
I was looking to find out the routes signed out of Glasgow Central. Seriously considering applying for the TPE Trainee Conductor post there.
Also out of curiosity does anyone know the recruitment schedule i.e. exams (online and assessment days), structured interview etc.
Thanking you...
Aww that's pants that you didn't get to apply. Maybe some of those on hold will be getting assessment days soon though. Chin up am sure there will be more of these posts as the barriers go up at central. Fingers and flaps crossed.
Yeah it was for the gateline assistant posts. Apparently too many folks applied. Lots were shortlisted but not enough places were available for assessment days. As the barriers go up in central I reckon they'll take more on a block at a time.
My other half is short listed but on hold for scotrail. If the same post comes up in 6 months time then you are automatically through the application short list and should get invited to an assessment day according to HR. Take with a pinch of salt though this could be wrong.
