Sheffield to Leeds via Dearne and Sheffield to Doncaster/Adwick both seem to be back to hourly. The Brigg line and the 3 per day Sheffield to/from York are also shown as back. The weekday Gainsborough Central services are still shown as peak only, though.

The idea seems to be Manchester/Preston - Blackburn - Clitheroe - Hellifield - Settle - Garsdale - Hawes.
Probably this discussion should be in Speculative Ideas (or should it be Very Speculative Ideas?).
The Yorkshire Post has a list of seven schemes:
- York-Beverley
- Garsdale-Hawes
- Millhouses and Heeley, plus extra capacity at Dore & Totley
- KWVR regular service
- station to serve the Advanced Manufacturing Park and Waverley (presumably between Darnall and Woodhouse)
- South Yorkshire Joint...
So the suggestion would be to re-open:
- Killamarsh West, where the B6058 crosses the line. This is actually just over the border in the Sheffield council area, and is actually less than 1km from Halfway Supertram terminus. It would be a bit out of Killamarsh town to the west, though I suspect...
Perhaps, although Stocksbridge would then be on a spur, and presumably the costs would increase considerably on the dismantled section between Deepcar and Penistone.
I'm surprised that Barrow Hill is on the list but not Stocksbridge: the two make more sense to me combined than Barrow Hill does on its own. I wouldn't have thought that trains from Barrow Hill are going to be allowed into Sheffield Midland station, given the capacity constraints and in...
Yes, the main problem is that they are too small. There are other problems, but if they'd all been built as 6 car units I think they'd be a lot less unpopular than they are.
Let's try to answer the original question:
Most interesting: West Highland (Glasgow QS to Mallaig) shades it for me...
I thought that the lines northward out of Sheffield were a bottleneck where it was hard to fit any new services in, which would cause problems for any proposal to bring in a Sheffield to Bradford service unless it was an extension of an existing Leeds service.
(Indeed, is that why the original...
Are they thinking of having a station at Nunnery Square, for Supertram interchange? Or Orgreave/Waverley, for the new developments there and the Advanced Manufacturing Park?
It has occurred to me in the past that a partial response to the problem for a Stocksbridge service that it can't get to...
I use it a lot, and this is not my experience at all.
The major stations I actually dislike are Manchester Piccadilly 13/14 (the rest is fine) and Birmingham New Street (not as bad as it used to be, but platform level is still grim and the layout is confusing).
I suspect "Spring Lawe" is a Google mistake, arising from a corruption of "Spring Lane", which is the name of a tram stop in the area. I haven't seen it on any other maps, and I've looked at some old OS maps going quite a way back: Spring Lane has been there a long time, but there's no sign of...
According to the data currently on Real Time Trains, most of the Hope Valley stoppers are down to use platforms other than 2C at Sheffield from May. 2C gets four departures on weekdays, only one on Saturdays and none at all on Sundays.
