It wasnt cleaned up the day after. on the day I bought a ticket using the national rail app to avoid another situation. However the day after that, it was cleaned up.

Yes .very good result. their reasoning was I obviously wasn't trying to fleece the system and a new railcard was purchased straight after my old one expired. And yes, I do agree that would be a good idea, it should be valid in some form as soon as it is purchased.

Hi all, thanks for the replies. I contacted the train company through someone i know that works for them, and they have agreed to waiver the fee upon sending proof of the date i bought my new railcard. Guess discretion can be used. Thanks again

They're marketing is spot on, and if it's an on the day ticket. I use it, the app is byfar the prettiest and easiest to use. As for saving money using Trainline. Utter BS and people fall for it

No. i had my expired railcard that was off by one day, and proof of purchasing my new railcard . So yeah I'm in the wrong, These things happen .

No, i didn't raise it as i assumed i was in the wrong, he was very insistant that you couldn't buy a ticket on the train with one. It was only a couple of quid extra so i didn't make a fuss

I thought so, i couldn't show him the railcards terms and conditions as my phone was dead. However it does make you think how bad the training is if he thought he was correct. I didn't make a huge deal out of it as it was only a couple of quid extra. more curiousity than anything.
