Depends what you regard as best? If you mean costing the taxpayer the least amount of money, then we are second best in Europe behind Germany.. If you would rather pay more tax for a better system. How much would you personally be prepared to pay each year extra? £100? £200? £1000?

Just sat on the train at the moment pondering why they have never bypassed the Morpeth curve? Surely it costs a lot of time slowing down from 100+ and back up again. I understand trains still need to stop at Morpeth, but for the trains that don’t why not have a bypass? I’m guessing as ever...
