This is true, and welcome, but on the 263 (Altrincham - Picc Gardens) many of the single deckers being used are shorter than the Arriva buses they replaced, meaning this route has effectively seen a cut in capacity since Bee Network took it over.
There may be an argument for splitting the Norwich - Liverpool service and I believe it is an argument that has been had in other threads so I won't get into it here. However, if it was to be split, it would have to be at Nottingham, not Sheffield. If you split the service at Sheffield you would...
I think the existing plan of adding two new platforms at Piccadilly and straightening the through platforms at Oxford Rd is the best solution. If that doesn't get approval by Grayling I can't see that any other expensive schemes will. Once the viaduct is at capacity again it will probably be...
One of my applications has changed from 'Application Under Consideration' to 'Application Under Consideration for Assessment 2'. I understand that this means that the application has been passed to the local Hiring Manager for consideration.
Does this basically mean I've met the required...
I know we've had the 'official' opening but have any trains actually been across the Chord yet? That's when it'll really seem completed. Are there likely to be any test trains? Any route clearance/driver training before the first passenger service? Or is this such a short section of track that...
When looking at the job descriptions for signalling and crossing keeper roles on the Network Rail careers site, they say that you should visit the 'Signaller' pages on 'connect' and complete the 'Assessment Practice Booklet'. Am I right in thinking that 'Connect' is something on the Network Rail...

The thing that strikes me as odd about Ardwick is that I can just about see how it survived the 1960s, despite many other stations around Manchester closing during that period, but I'm actually more surprised it survived the 1990s, when the remaining underused stations in parts of inner city...
I believe the Class 802 is to be introduced on TransPennine from 2019. There's a good chance (though I could be wrong) that this will be in service on Liverpool - Edinburgh and Manchester Airport - Newcastle (via Chord) routes. Therefore, it may only be 2-3 years before there is a day to day use...
Yes. And I think they're out of date. I'm fairly sure that Manchester is over 25 million now and Stansted is over 20 million. Think the rankings are basically the same though and the big drop between Stansted and everything below still exists.
